I noticed most of the good, traveling models take pictures themselves. I find it fascinating that a lot of it gravitated towards fine art, moody black and whites. To be a good model, you need to see and feel art. These ladies certainly do.

A girl commented on one of my images and I checked out her gallery. She is a self portrait artists. Some amazing work....Every pic is of her, but it just doesn't get boring. I wonder if it would be better to eliminate everything else and just group my self portraits together....It would make sense when I get a portfolio together. Self portraits series....A never ending series. Her gallery.

so, in the past few days I must've watched like 10 movies.
And I was able to watch one after another. However today I saw one that made me want to stop. I've never heard of it before, but I think it just made it to my top 10 faves. It's called Mr. Nobody http://www.freemoviehub.com/videos/1301/mrnobody-%282009%29-dvdrip.html

I woke up at 1pm. I think this is the consequence of quoting rates to people. My schedule is wide open. It's also difficult to schedule models to work with, because it's so damn hot outside. Of course I could invite all these strangers to come out all the way to Staten Island....But it still makes me uneasy, showing strangers where I live.
Dribble of photos here will become less frequent, because I am mainly working with film =)

So....I am at a hostel.
Very nice and clean, female dorm 4 beds. ABout 3 hrs until I have to get on the train and go to my last SF shoot. I walked around, hit a few stores. Bought a sweater....Airplanes are cold. None of my roommates are here. They're probably out doing touristy stuff...I'm lame. Sitting indoors in a new city....Don't really want to shoot the city...Just missed the internet so much, I'm here enjoying it. Getting pics back, people are fast, the photos are amazing....I'm happy, but ready to go hope. The 10 days seemed like 3-4 weeks.

San Francisco. Virgin Airlines, 3 year old next to me. Absolutely adorable. Good nap. Smooth landing. Who knew that Virgin America lands at the international terminal? After some confusion I got picked up. Ride to a storage space studio. Great space. Great photos. Really great guy. 4 more rolls of 120 film. Ride to host. Host. Cool guy who likes to joke around. Nap. 10 10 pm showing of Inception. Second row, corner seat, good enough movie to not notice the shittiness of the seats. Ride home, finally sleep. 9 30am alarm. LA blog entry, MM messge replies. Shoot 1pm. Mare Island abandoned boat yard, dinner in Napa, vineyards, sunset in the mountains. Ride home. Host almost locked me out cuz it was that late. He leaves. Too late to shoot. Sleep. 7 am wake up. 9 am shoot. At the train station now, being late cuz I got confused with the transportation system. 3 more days.

I got a couple of hours before my second SF shoot. That's right, I'm already in SF.
So....LA. It was, well fucking amazing.
My host picked me up at the airport in a vintage Mercedes. We rode to his house with windows down and a pleasant breeze rampaging through the car. When we got to his place I was in awe. This is basically a dream house. A LOT of light, beautiful modern design, a view on the ocean from the windows. My own room and bathroom. First shoot was on the same day. Gregory Prescott. I have to take the metro to get to him. Paul, my host gave me very clear directions and I followed them well. An hour twenty minutes later I was at the right station. Gregory picked me up and we went to his studio/apartment. We shot artistic nudes on a roof....Black backdrop, natural light, a view on downtown LA, blue skies and feeling alive. The shoot was over in about 40 minutes, he dropped me off back at the metro and I made the trip back. I really liked that the train went outside for the most part, so I got to look out the window and see some stuff. Paul also gave me 8 rolls of expired 120.
I got home and shot with Paul. With did some light box stuff, I like the results. Then I had my first night of sleep.
The following day I had 2 shoots. First a photographer picked me up, and we drove to the LA river. Got some stunning shots. They are all lingerie and it was a first shoot in a long time when I didn't do any nudes. Felt a bit weird. But the results are fantastic. I'll upload them probably after the 21st. He drove me back to the host and in about an hour another photographer showed up. He was a young guy with his cousin as an assistant. Turned out they only did nudes ones before. So we shot some clothed stuff and then a few topless shots, but the atmosphere got a bit weird. I also did a self portrait with this photographer, I'll upload it once I stop tweaking, it looks exactly like I imagined, There is distance yet closeness.
He left. I think I shot with Paul some more that night.
The following day was Sylvie Blum and Daniel Hebert. Sylvie was very professional, except her back drop fell on me.
I finished writing this post but then there was a problem and it didn't get saved, so I'll finish describing my adventures later.
